Never was a fan of the Tiger ADV bikes.
I had a couple Triumphs, one of which was a 2010 Tiger 1050. They had a tall and soft suspension, but in that era, they certainly were not ADV bikes...more like a street bike with a cushy suspension. I think the Tiger has since moved far more towards the ADV series hasn't it? I also had a 2010 Triumph Sprint 1050. I bought both bikes wrecked and rebuilt them. I had good fun doing so, but on the road I just could not make myself like those bikes. I tried to give them some time, but they just didn't take. I was a Kawi guy mostly, and as much as I loved the sound of the 1050 triples, they didn't sing the right song for me...lol. I later bought a Kawi Versys 1000, and I didn't like that thing either and promptly sold it after putting only a few thousand miles on it.

Cory, the tigers never did it in the looks category for me.

Ive had a kawasaki KLR and it fit my long legs perfectly. Only 35hp and 1 cylinder didnt do it for me, but it was a tough bike.

I liked the Suzuki DR slightly more. A little more hp, a little lighter, and air cooled. Also a tough bike.

Next bike will have 2 cylinders though. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 really looks great, and has the power. But the pricetag!!!

That and the H2 750 were wicked bitches!
Hinge in the middle and a power curve that looked like a mortars trajectory.

"Hinge in the middle" and "water buffalo" I fully understand.  I was riding then, including everything from a desmodromic Duke, Hondas from 90 to 750, and then the Cadillac - the first year Yamaha 1100.

This is one of the prettier Kawasaki's I owned...and one of the more modern classics. I bought it wrecked from an insurance auction and spent a winter rebuilding it. I believe the guy had hit a deer with it as several spots on the front of the bike had deer hair jammed into the grooves and seams. I still see it around from time to time.

Once I got used to riding 1000's and larger, I was never happy with anything smaller.

I like the bicycle bar end mirror and the bungee net hooks instead of passenger grab handles.

Rob Muzzy was a great tuner back in those days. The battles with Terry Vance's Suzuki's were epic

Happy New year everyone!   🎉

Resolutions?
Things you want to leave in your rearview as we move into a new decade?

Of course, it really doesn't start until NEXT year, but going from 9 to 0 seems like it's the start of something.

Happy New Year to everyone

Being the truck is almost done and I am driving it time to move on to 1 of 3 projects I brought down from CT.
I hope by days end to have the street AMC Javelin moved from the house garage to my garage.
The pick up will go into the house garage and the DD will still stay out till I can get my sons things out of my garage.

I would have started but it is cold out side, even the dogs & cat did not want to go out. It was upper 60's yesterday and 45* at 4am only getting up to 50's today I hear.
Hope once the sun comes up it will warm up some to get working on the move.

I also need to get some pictures of the truck to update my avatar.

Yes, Happy New Year!!!!

And yes, some resolutions.  One of which is: Big Blue will make it to the show under his own power this year.

Dave - I envy you having the truck to a point where you can start on the next project.  Well done!

Thanks
Other than sitting the last 4 years and need to go thru the fuel system again, most of the body work done other than after the doors to the rear is done to hardest part is inside.

No one makes seat foam and I need it all and the covers I want are $1000 for just the 2 bucket seats and the rear another $1000. Forgot what the door panels cost but not cheap from what I remember.
Oh I have to make the head liner as no one makes that either.

They say it's only money right?

As a start a link to the AMC site I am a member of and when I started project back in 2009
http://theamcforum.com/forum/my-70-javelin-street-car-restore_topic11725.html
And because I lost my domain name the picture links are broken but here is a link to my Javelin pictures
http://cars.grantskingdom1.com/index.php/70-Javelin-Mark-Donohue?page=1
When I first started the truck and was talking of the firewall swap and was catching slack from some others were on my side as they knew what I could do as they were members on the AMC site also.
Frame rot

Just a tease of what I did to the frame, check out the pictures and I will start a thread.
